Common Questions
HOW DOES AAT COMPARE TO OTHER ALTERNATIVE ALLERGY TREATMENTS?
There are various other non-medical allergy therapies available. Many of these therapies can achieve excellent results when using the same mechanism of “positive conditioning”. Whether the stimulus is on the back, the scalp or other regions, the same mechanism applies.
However, doctors may become frustrated because the results are inconsistent and there is little understanding as to why. AAT has researched the mechanism of “positive conditioning” and its relationship to the actual error that causes an inappropriate reaction. More importantly the extensive research into the offending substances has been the foundation for developing a more decisive treatment capability and a much broader use of the therapy. The treatment is able to address many symptoms that go beyond the common understanding of allergies and sensitivities.
Therefore, it is the knowledge base and expertise with the actual allergens as well as the concise protocols that sets AAT apart in terms of therapeutic results.
IS THERE ANY SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE?
AAT is currently in the initial phase of a controlled study. However a study has not been a priority for the company because the market demand has not necessitated it. The clinical results have driven the company’s success.
In today’s market, it is important to keep in mind that there are many very effective alternative therapies available that have not received studies as the cost is often too prohibitive. This does not invalidate their effectiveness.
IS MUSCLE RESPONSE TESTING A VALID METHOD FOR TESTING ALLERGIES?
While muscle response testing is not scientifically proven, it is a common technique used in alternative medicine to assess a patient’s allergies or sensitivities. AAT teaches a proprietary method which greatly increases accuracy. Muscle response testing has shown to be invaluable in identifying allergens and sensitivities underlying symptoms. However, in an effort to provide objective testing, Advanced Allergy Therapeutics is currently developing instrumentation to measure the physiological changes that occur with exposure to an allergen or offending substance.
While muscle testing is not scientifically proven, standard RAST or skin prick tests are also not definitive and often fail to determine the true culprit to many allergic reactions. Conventional medical allergy tests are also are very limited in the testing of sensitivities.
Proper muscle testing has shown to be invaluable in identifying the culprits to patient’s symptoms.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NECESSARY TO ELIMINATE THE SYMPTOMS OF AN ALLERGY OR SENSITIVITY?
AAT typically requires one treatment per allergen family. The treatment may include dozens of substances if they are all part of the allergen family. So multiple species of pollen may be included in one treatment. However, dairy and pollen, for example, can not be treated at the same time.
An allergy to cat hair may require several treatments as the components may need to be treated separately. For example, cat hair, dander, glandular oil, saliva, sweat and specific molecules are technically part of different families. Various components may be successfully treated together, but in many cases it will require a number of treatments.
DOES ADVANCED ALLERGY THERAPEUTICS CURE ALLERGIES?
The majority of media stories that cover the therapy use the word “cure”. However, until a controlled study has been completed, the company prohibits the use of the word “cure”.
The treatment, however is highly effective in eliminating many, if not all of the associated symptoms involved in allergies and sensitivities.
